Our permits run from June 1st to May 31st each year, New season permits are usually available to purchase during May each year.

How long does my permit last for ?

 

Our permits are valid from June 1st to 31st of May each year.

Do you have any Junior sessions?

Yes in 2022 the association has started to run an Angling Development program for anglers of all ages, it is run by Mark Leathwood who is a level 2 Angling Coach please click the link below to get more information

WHERE CAN I NIGHT FISH ?
Waters available to night fish are on the night fishing page along with the limits, rules and bookings.
No night fishing on the ocean, red lion, aerosol,marina, wyvern pool, National pit, Terminus pool and the Trent and Mersey canal.

 

DO I NEED TO BOOK NIGHT FISHING SESSIONS?

You Must book night fishing sessions on line at the following Waters.

Newpool, Top Flash, Newbridge Pool, Tommy's Hole

No booking is required for Sections of the River weaver where night fishing allowed, River Severn, and River Dane.

HOW LONG CAN I NIGHT FISH ?
The length of stay is in the permit and it is also on the website night fishing page along with arrival/ departure times etc, however , on certain waters
at certain times of the season we may see an extension of times allowed. This is purely down to the water management teams recommendation
and is not set in stone. Any changes may only be notified to members via the water bailiff to the anglers concerned and via facebook.

CAN MY MATE COME WITH ME ?
Only if they are in possession of a spectators permit.

CAN SPECTATORS STAY OVERNIGHT ?

( If staying overnight, the Spectator permit must have a night sticker attached, but they do not need to book on)

CAN MY CHILD COME WITH ME NIGHT FISHING?

All under 18's must be accompanied by an adult WDAA Member,

Juniors aged 12 to 17 can night fish on the same peg as the adult angler, but you can only use one rod each,

12 -17 year olds are allowed to fish in the adjacent peg to the supervising adult, and make a seperate night booking if this is the case.

Under 12 years of age  must have written permission from the WDAA committee to go night fishing.

CAN MY DOG COME WITH ME ?
No, dog's are not allowed with anglers whilst they are fishing, and are completely banned from some waters.

CAN I USE A BBQ ?
Barbeques are banned on all waters.

CAN I USE A SMOKE TIN?

Smoke tins are allowed to deter insects. 

CAN I USE A KEEP SACK ?
A retention sling may be used for a maximum of 30 minutes to aid fish recovery.

Carp MUST NOT be retained for Photographs or any other purpose other than fish recovery 

 

CAN I USE A KEEPNET ?
Only if the water allows. No carp or pike are to be retained in keepnets.
When fishing we expect you to empty your keepnet every 5 hours
so as not to unduly stress the fish.

DO YOU PROVIDE TOILET FACILITIES ?
None of our waters have toilet facilities.

We expect a modicum of decency and respect when fishing our waters.

Use the bivvy/bucket/bag system, and take the bag home.

Bags of Faeces left anywhere will be treated the same as if the mess was just done on the bankside.
Anglers who think it is okay to take a dump on the bank and leave it exposed WILL face a lifetime ban.

CAN I TAKE AN ALCOHOLIC DRINK ?
No. Due to abuse over the past seasons WDAA operates a zero tolerance policy to alcohol on the bank.

No form of tin cans are allowed, or glass bottles.
