WHERE CAN I NIGHT FISH ?
Waters available to night fish are on the night fishing page along with the limits, rules and bookings.
No night fishing on the ocean, red lion, aerosol,marina, wyvern pool, National pit, Terminus pool and the Trent and Mersey canal.

 

DO I NEED TO BOOK NIGHT FISHING SESSIONS?

You Must book night fishing sessions on line at the following Waters.

Newpool, Top Flash, Newbridge Pool, Tommy's Hole, River Weaver Winsford, & River Weaver Acton Bridge

No booking is required for Sections of the River Severn, and River Dane.

HOW LONG CAN I NIGHT FISH ?
The length of stay is in the permit and it is also on the website night fishing page along with arrival/ departure times etc, however , on certain waters
at certain times of the season we may see an extension of times allowed. This is purely down to the water management teams recommendation
and is not set in stone. Any changes may only be notified to members via the water bailiff to the anglers concerned and via facebook.

CAN MY MATE COME WITH ME ?
Only if they are in possession of a spectators permit.

​

CAN SPECTATORS STAY OVERNIGHT ?

( If staying overnight, the Spectator permit must have a night sticker attached, but they do not need to book on)

CAN MY CHILD COME WITH ME NIGHT FISHING?

All under 18's must be accompanied by an adult WDAA Member,

Juniors aged 12 to 17 can night fish on the same peg as the adult angler, but you can only use one rod each,

12 -17 year olds are allowed to fish in the adjacent peg to the supervising adult, and make a seperate night booking if this is the case.

Under 12 years of age  must have written permission from the WDAA committee to go night fishing.

CAN MY DOG COME WITH ME ?
No, dog's are not allowed with anglers whilst they are fishing, and are completely banned from some waters.

CAN I USE A BBQ ?
Barbeques are banned on all waters.

​

CAN I USE A SMOKE TIN?

Smoke tins are allowed to deter insects. 

​

CAN I USE A KEEP SACK ?
A retention sling may be used for a maximum of 30 minutes to aid fish recovery.

Carp MUST NOT be retained for Photographs or any other purpose other than fish recovery 

 

CAN I USE A KEEPNET ?
Only if the water allows. No carp or pike are to be retained in keepnets.When fishing we expect you to empty your keepnet every 5 hours
so as not to unduly stress the fish.

DO YOU PROVIDE TOILET FACILITIES ?
None of our waters have toilet facilities.

We expect a modicum of decency and respect when fishing our waters.

Use the bivvy/bucket/bag system, and take the bag home.

Bags of Faeces left anywhere will be treated the same as if the mess was just done on the bankside.
Anglers who think it is okay to take a dump on the bank and leave it exposed WILL face a lifetime ban.

CAN I TAKE AN ALCOHOLIC DRINK ?
No. Due to abuse over the past seasons WDAA operates a zero tolerance policy to alcohol on the bank.

No form of tin cans are allowed, or glass bottles.

 

What should I do with my litter

Take it Home !!! Anglers will be held responsible for any litter in and around their pegs, whether theirs or not.

WHAT'S BANNED ?
Leadcore and tungsten leaders are banned. Micro barb hooks are recommended. Nuts are banned.

CAN I USE A SPOD/SPOMB ?
Yes, but be respectful of other anglers, abuse will not be tolerated.

HOW DO I GET A CLOSED SEASON PERMIT STICKER ?
A waiver fee of £45 is payable.

Contact the fisheries Manager for other ways to get a Closed season Sticker.

JUNIOR and OVER 65's DO NOT need a Closed season sticker.

DOES ONE KEY FIT ALL GATES ?
No, there are two keys required.

WHERE DO I GET CAR PARK KEYS ?
for New Pool, Newbridge Pool, and Acton Bridge Keys for the gate are available from  this website or our retail outlet partners.
A separate key is required for the Weaver Valley parkway for the car park at National pool purchased from the rangers office.

CAN I USE 3 RODS ?
Three rods may be used on the river weaver on certain lengths( meadow island, ferry steps, national, vacuum, rilshaw and ways green )
3 rods may be used on Top Flash.
* If you intend fishing with three rods you must purchase the correct Environment Agency rod licence.

DO YOU SELL DAY TICKETS ?

From 1st June 2023 we will no longer sell day tickets on any of our waters

The only way to fish our waters is to buy a permit.

CAN I PUBLICISE MY CATCHES ?
Yes, but we expect the images to be offered to W.D.A.A. for use on the club website also. You can send them via the email address or to the
WDAA facebook pages ( all images posted to these pages can be used by WDAA on their website or in any other media form)

HOW DOES OUR CLUB AFFILIATE ?

DO YOU HAVE OPEN MATCHES ?
Yes, all matches are on the match list and opens are stated.

DO MATCHES TAKE PRIORITY ?
It remains in the remit of the match secretary to move/rearrange matches if conditions make it necessary, any anglers already fishing may be pegged
around or asked to move depending on the situation.

WHEN IS THE AGM AND CAN I ATTEND ?
The A.G.M. is usually in March. Only members with their permit may attend. Dates for the A.G.M. will be advertised on here and facebook.

DISCIPLINARY

WHAT ARE THE DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES ?

Offenders may receive a mark in the back of their permit, two marks will see the permit recorded pending a committee meeting where
the member will have the chance to explain/defend their actions. Members may also be called before the committee even if the
permit has not been marked if the bailiffs think the offence warrants it and will be sent a letter by the club requesting their attendance.
Any permit with no photo attached will have the photo box signed and dated by the bailiff and a warning issued, if a photo
is still not attached on further inspection this will result in a mark in the back of the permit. The permit is sold to members on the assumption
that they will abide by all rules and bailiffs requests, it remains the property of W.D.A.A. at all times.

All anglers fishing the association pools and rivers, have the right ,whenever questioned by a bailiff of the association,
to request that the bailiff also is able to show his/her card. If any members are asked to leave the water for whatever reason
by a bailiff and he/she fails to produce a valid bailiff card please contact a member of the fishery management team or committee.
